There’s no mention of the church in the Old Testament and in fact, the word, church is used rather infrequently in the New (Testament). But the word “body” on the other hand is used often because it reflects what the church really is. Those who are in Christ have been justified before God. But salvation means much more; it means that we are sanctified, that God actually leads us into holiness.
