As he fled for his life from Jezebel, the prophet Elijah came to the place of utter despair. It seemed to him that the entire nation had turned away from God and that he alone had remained faithful, but God replied that he had reserved for Himself 7,000 men who had not bowed the knee to Baal. The Lord knows His own and He is able to preserve them by His power and grace.
