Gospel in Life

with Tim Keller
How To Be Strong Monday, October 7, 2024
We’re in the second of a two-part series on the devil and the conflict between supernatural forces of good and supernatural forces of evil.  In Part 1, I made my case for why I think it’s immanently sensible to say there really is a devil. And we talked about Satan’s weapons and strategies. If you go through the Bible all the way back to Adam and Eve, what is Satan’s strategy? He’s not possessing them. He’s lying to them. On the basis of that understanding, we’re going to proceed and look at the Christian’s weapons and strategies. If you want to defeat the forces of evil and be successful in the battles of life, you must put on the full armor of God. What is that? In this passage, we can learn 1) when to put it on, 2) what it is, 3) how to put it on, and 4) whom to remember when you do. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on February 5, 2012. Series: A Study of Ephesians: Who is the Church? Scripture: Ephesians 6:14-24. Is the Gospel Inclusive or Exclusive?

Christianity is both radically inclusive and radically exclusive at the same time. In 'The Gospel on the Move: How the Cross Transcends Cultural Differences,' Tim Keller explains this paradox through the New Testament story of Philip and the Ethiopian.
