End Times – Book of Daniel: In the Lions’ Den, When Obedience to God Overrides the Decrees of Men

This sermon expounds Daniel 6, showing how an aged Daniel—now in his 80s or 90s under Darius—remains uncompromising in prayer even after a royal decree makes petition to anyone but the king a capital offense punishable by the lions’ den. Jealous officials exploit Darius’s pride to trap Daniel, but when Daniel knowingly continues his open-window prayers toward Jerusalem, he is arrested and cast to the lions, only for God to shut their mouths and preserve him through the night. The pastor draws strong application to modern pressures on believers to conform to ungodly mandates, arguing that Christians should honor civil law until it directly conflicts with God’s Word—and then, like Daniel and the apostles, must “obey God rather than men,” trusting the Lord with the consequences.
