New Beginnings

with Miriam Neff
Consistent Countries Friday, October 30, 2020
Countries on every continent are quaking. North Korea, Hong Kong, and countless others experience a sense of unrest, even turbulence. Few countries are consistent. Our United States is one, Israel is another. Yes, our political processes are messy. Yet over time, we are consistent. There is continuity as leaders change, grow. And people are respected. Why? Because as a country, we have a sense of purpose. Israel does as well. I recently stood in the National Archives viewing original documents that described our beginnings. God created men and women, equal, with important rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These foundational truths give a sense of purpose to every aspect of life: our economy, our freedom of religion, our respect for each other and life itself.

From One Widow to Another - Book

“Every pastor needs to read this book, and every church needs copies of this book available. Written by a widow, written for widows, this book reads like the experience of sitting at a coffee table watching one widow minister to another widow. It’s that personal. And because there are so many widows, it’s that important.” - Scot McKnight - Karl A. Olsson Professor in Religious Studies, North Park University, Chicago.
