The Bible Study Hour

with Dr. James Boice
Not to Worry: Part 1 Tuesday, March 17, 2026
It can be hard to wait on God when we see evil all around, and the wicked seem to go unpunished. But if we look up to God and look ahead to the fulfillment of His promises, we can be sure that God won’t forget. Today on The Bible Study Hour, we’re studying the first half of Psalm 37, where David is comparing the way of wickedness and the way of righteousness. We’re reminded to fix our eyes on God, and to “take the long view.” The Lord has promised to sustain the righteous, and deal with the wicked in His time.

Rejoicing in Trials

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:10-12

The Bible tells us that those who are persecuted are blessed, but that message is certainly contrary to the message the world believes. So how is it that Christians can rejoice in trials? In this booklet, Dr. Boice describes what it means to be persecuted for Christ, tells us how to rejoice in persecutions, and challenges us to stand up and be counted.
