Throughout this month of January, Aaron Brockett, lead minister with Trader’s Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana has been helping us tackle the question of how to be formed more and more into the image and likeness of Christ, within a culture that wants to shape us into, “something else”?
I once hear a young minister tell of an encounter with a man well mature in years. His question to the elder man was at what age did temptation stop becoming an issue in his walk of faith. The older man responded; “I’ll let you know when I get there”. In the Bible’s book of Daniel there is the account of a 80 or 90 year old Daniel faced with death over praying to the one true God. In this account of a life and death situation hinging on how far to trust God, Daniel chooses to place his life in the hands of the eternal God rather than bow to the culture of men.
