Paul the Apostle openly describes the intense internal struggle between the desire to obey God and the reality of sin that still dwells within us. Though the believer delights in God’s law, there remains a battle between the mind that longs to follow God and the flesh that pulls toward sin.Paul’s honest reflection reveals a conflict every Christian can recognize—the frustration of doing what we hate and failing to do what we know is right. Yet this passage does not end in despair. It leads to a cry for rescue and a triumphant answer: deliverance comes through Jesus Christ our Lord.Romans 7 reminds us that the struggle with sin is real, but our hope is not in our own strength—it is in the One who saves.
